We collect no personal data. Here's exactly what that means.
Provident Prep ("the App") is a free mobile application designed to help users track food storage and emergency preparedness supplies. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (if any), how it is used, and your rights.
Provident Prep collects no personal information. The App does not require account creation, registration, or any form of identity verification.
All data you enter into the App — including food storage items, quantities, expiration dates, and 72-hour kit entries — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and, if you have iCloud enabled, your personal iCloud account.
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account under your own Apple ID. The developers of Provident Prep have no access to this data whatsoever. iCloud sync is subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy.
The barcode scanning feature may query the Open Food Facts API (openfoodfacts.org) to look up product information. These requests send only the barcode number (UPC/EAN) and are used solely to retrieve product names and details. No personal information is included in these requests.
Provident Prep contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We do not use services like Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any similar platform.
If you enable notifications, the App uses your device's local notification system to send reminders about expiring items. These notifications are generated on-device and no notification data is sent to any server.
If you choose to make an optional donation to support development, any payment processing is handled by Apple's in-app purchase system or an external link. We receive only confirmation of the donation and no payment details.
Provident Prep does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As no personal data is collected at all, the App is suitable for all ages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected with a new effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
